The hacker is the protagonist and player character of Rez. This hacker was sent into Project-K in the hopes of disinfecting it and restarting its malfunctioning artificial intelligence center, Eden.

While the hacker is not actually seen at any point during Rez, they possess an avatar that they control within Project-K. Their avatar has six forms, alongside a non-canonical seventh: a Morolian, as a homage to Space Channel 5, a game which was made by the same creator.
